ACCME News Release (06/26/26)

A new resource provides accredited providers with practical guidance for building, supporting and sustaining effective continuing education (CE) and continuing professional development (CPD) teams. Drawing on input from CE colleagues, current market data, and findings from the 2024 ACCME CPD/CE Workforce Survey, the resource outlines career stages across the CE/CPD workforce, including typical responsibilities, qualifications, and factors influencing career growth and compensation. It also offers a framework for defining roles, supporting professional development, and aligning team skills with program needs, while encouraging a strategic approach to staffing that strengthens outcomes measurement, program improvement, and organizational alignment. Furthermore, the resource reinforces the importance of intentionally matching roles and capabilities to the goals of CE/CPD programs, and highlights opportunities for community members to contribute to future workforce initiatives through Learn to Thrive Working Groups.
