The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) has introduced a new resource that provides practical guidance for accredited continuing education (CE) providers seeking to strengthen the professional development and identity of frontline CE educators. The resource outlines approaches for identifying training needs related to CE planning and accreditation compliance, shares lessons learned from implementation of a competency-based curriculum at 11 pilot organizations, including medical schools, healthcare systems, and physician membership organizations, and offers implementation tools such as a curriculum template and sample needs-assessment survey. ACCME notes that the resource, which was developed by the Learn to Thrive 2025 Working Group on Curriculum Implementation, is intended to help organizations develop standardized training and build workforce capacity among frontline CE professionals.
