A recent analysis of graduate-degree earnings shows that medicine and pharmacy degrees remain among the strongest graduate-level financial investments, even as many other advanced programs yield low or negative returns. The study was released by the Postsecondary Education & Economics Research Center at American University and is based on research from the Yale Tobin Center for Economic Policy. By comparing graduates’ projected lifetime earnings with the earnings they likely would have achieved without pursuing an advanced degree, the study finds that pharmacy programs consistently deliver high net returns even after factoring in tuition costs. The findings underscore that pharmacy degrees continue to offer strong financial returns compared with many other graduate programs. The return on investment was highest for medical (MD), pharmacy (PharmD), and law (JD) degrees, according to the report.
