Researchers explored the value of a 360-degree virtual reality (VR) training program designed to help intensive care unit (ICU) nurses in Korea develop key skills for managing mechanical ventilation, an area where traditional training often falls short. In a comparison between nurses who received this VR-based education and those who did not, the group that used VR showed significant gains in their knowledge, confidence, clinical decision-making, and engagement with the learning process. Satisfaction with the training was also higher among participants. Overall, the findings suggest that immersive VR education can effectively improve important competencies for ICU nurses in the short term, though longer-term effects still need further study.
