Hi everyone! I’m Audrie Tornow, here with the July Alliance President’s update. We’ve kicked off Q3 of 2025 and I can’t believe that half the year is over. So, let’s get to it! 💥

📅Today is the deadline for applications to run for the Alliance Board of Directors.

🫱🏻‍🫲🏽AIS registration is open and the early bird pricing expires this week on July 18.

✅Applications for the Alliance competitive and recognition awards are due by Thursday, Aug. 28. More details can be found on the Alliance website.

📖 Make room on your summer reading list for recent Almanac articles by Kelly Nevins-Kraines on the Amazing Case Race educational initiative developed by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), the ACCME 2024 Data Report and learning the difference between Advanced Reasoning Models (ARMs) and Large Language Models (LLMs) in Prompting With Purpose by Andrew Crim, M.Ed., CHCP, FACEHP; and Núria Waddington Negrão, PhD.

Now – I asked for the data and found out that many of you drop off around the two minute mark so, I’ve employed a PDSA cycle and am shortening our countdown to 2026.

In 1995

• Operating system, Windows 95 was released by Microsoft.
• And Toy Story graced movie theaters introducing us to Woody and Buzz Lightyear.

In 1996

• Dolly was the first mammal to be cloned from an adult cell. Before Dolly was born, this was thought to be impossible.
• And the Mars Pathfinder was launched in December, landing on Mars seven months later.

In 1997

• Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was published.
• Netflix was founded as an online DVD rental service.

And in 1998

• Google, Inc. was founded.
• And the iMac, Apple’s all-in-one computer, hit store shelves.
