President's Message - December 2025

By: Audrie Tornow, CHCP, FACEHP

It was the month of December when the Alliance looked back on a year full of progress and momentum on track. When suddenly, live from the North Pole with cheer, came Mrs. Claus herself with updates to hear.

First up, some news that's too good to delay. The Annual Conference early bird pricing ends on the 19, that's this Friday. And wouldn't you know, like a gift neatly wrapped, the Alliance marketing toolkit is robustly packed with jolly resources to share far and wide your plans to attend or present with great pride.

Now cozy on up with a warm winter treat and read "Stronger Together", a story so sweet by Jerry Davis, Sheila Robinson, and Heidi Ness too. It's a reminder that collaboration strengthens all that we do.

Some things are too special to leave in the past, so the Almanac's bringing Reality CME back at last. As part of our 50-year anniversary, we're opening the door. What questions are puzzling you? We'd love to hear more.

And now as the year draws gently to a close, it's time for the countdown, where 2015 glows. This year, avocado toast definitely stole the show, and "Inside Out" taught us how core memories grow. Google Drive made it easier for students to connect, sharing ideas on screens, collaborative and direct.

In 2016, Super Bowl ads cost $5 million a spot. And the Chicago Cubs won the World Series, believe it or not. Life expectancy in the U.S. has averaged 79 years of age, showing advances in care across every life stage.

In 2017, fidget spinners whirled left and right, while Wonder Woman showed us strength, power, and might. Telehealth started to grow, used more every day, bringing care closer to home in a whole new way.

In 2018, smart speakers moved into the home, and wearable tech tracked our steps on their own. Online learning expanding with reach and delight while virtual teams work to share their insight.

So as we reflect on the year nearly done, I thank you, our members, each and every one, for learning and leading, for giving your best. May your season be joyful and provide you some rest. From all of us here at the Alliance, shining bright, happy holidays to all and to all a good night.
