WFME to Launch Global Recognition Programme for CPD Accrediting Agencies

World Federation for Medical Education (09/16/24)

The World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) is developing an innovative global recognition program for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accrediting agencies. WFME has already established a global recognition program for basic medical education and now wants to set "a new benchmark in professional development for practising physicians," the group said. CPD, it noted, "not only ensures that medical professionals remain at the forefront of scientific advancements but also promotes professional competency, team collaboration, and overall quality of care." For the new program, WFME will establish a recognition committee, complete the recognition criteria, and train personnel in the coming months.
