Washington Medical Commission Joins ACCME and State Medical Licensing Boards Collaboration

The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) announced the Washington Medical Commission is now participating in the ACCME and State Medical Boards Collaboration. "This initiative will streamline the CME reporting process for ... learners who are licensed physicians in Washington," the council stated. The commission will confirm that physicians renewing their licenses have satisfied Washington's CME participation requirements in the prior four years through ACCME's Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS). ACCME noted that reporting CME for learners via PARS reduces the administrative disclosure workload, allowing them to devote more attention to learning and patient care. "You'll also reduce your time spent responding to credit inquiries and transcript requests from your learners when it's time for relicensure if they are audited," ACCME said.
