Nutrition Facts Label Continuing Medical Education Program for Pediatricians

A new education program from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the American Academy of Pediatrics aims to help pediatricians and other pediatric healthcare providers better understand the Nutrition Facts label. The program also focuses on educating parents and caregivers about using the Nutrition Facts label to make informed decisions about food. Included in the program are four videos — which discuss servings, calories, and percent daily value; nutrients to get more of; nutrients to have less of; and how to use the Nutrition Facts label — plus companion patient education materials. The FDA also provides a list of resources about the label.
