New AMA Grant Program Will Invest $12 Million in Precision Education

By: American Medical Association

American Medical Association (02/05/25)

The American Medical Association (AMA) is making a $12 million investment in precision education via medical schools, residency programs, and continuing medical education. Precision education uses data systems and technology to adapt learning experiences to each individual's requirements while increasing efficiency and emphasizing key areas of growth. Under the AMA's Transforming Lifelong Learning Through Precision Education Grant Program, 10 projects will receive at least $1.1 million in funding over 4 years to help them transform learning systems and evaluate and further key competencies for serving patients. "This important investment underscores the AMA's commitment to advancing medical education through innovation and collaboration," said AMA President Bruce A. Scott, MD. "By democratizing access to precision education, we're empowering institutions of all sizes and resources to create personalized, scalable learning journeys that meet the distinct needs of future and practicing physicians and their patients." The new initiative was developed through a multi-year collaborative design process with experts in precision education and artificial intelligence.
