The American Medical Association (AMA) has launched the "Ethical AI Use in Medicine Series," a continuing medical education program developed in collaboration with the Duke Institute for Health Innovation and the Health AI Partnership. The case-based curriculum is designed to provide physicians with practical guidance on the ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical practice as AI adoption expands across healthcare. Available through the AMA Ed Hub platform, the series consists of four modules covering AI evaluation and implementation, AI-assisted clinical decision-making, the use of AI mortality prediction tools, and the use of ambient AI scribes. The program emphasizes ethical considerations such as accountability, bias awareness, transparency, patient trust, physician oversight, and the responsible integration of AI into patient care.
