Rockpointe and the Potomac Center for Medical Education's (PCME) freely available "Nonmelanoma Skin Cancers: Current and Emerging Checkpoint Inhibitors for Treating Advanced Basal Cell and Squamous Cell Carcinomas" course is designed for clinicians who diagnose and manage advanced nonmelanoma skin cancers (NMSC). The course familiarizes participants with guideline-based diagnostic, staging and treatment procedures for advanced basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) cases. The activity covers Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and National Academy of Medicine competencies, including delivery of patient-centered care and practicing evidence-based medicine. Participants learn to diagnose BCC and CSCC patients using current evidence-based criteria; accurately stage and risk-stratify such patients to set optimal follow-up regimens; select evidence-based treatment; and evaluate emerging therapies. The activity complies with the accreditation mandates and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education via the joint providership of PCME, Rockpointe and Amedco.
