Evaluating Effectiveness of Online Learning Modules in Pediatric Environmental Health Education

The results of a new study indicate that Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit (PEHSU) eLearning modules are effective in boosting knowledge about pediatric and reproductive environmental health. The retrospective analysis of nearly 1,000 users who had completed at least one of 12 PEHSU modules and its associated pre-test and post-test scores between March 2016 and November 2018 revealed that participants included a wide range of clinical and nonclinical professionals. Post-test scores for all users were significantly higher than pre-test scores, with an increase of 30.55% following module completion. "Further studies are needed to determine long-term knowledge retention and clinical impact," the authors concluded.
