ACCME and American Board of Surgery Announce Collaboration to Promote High-Quality Learning for Surgeons

ACCME Highlights (08/01/19)

The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the American Board of Surgery (ABS) have announced a new partnership to enable accredited CME providers to register activities for ABS Continuous Certification in the Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS). The collaboration will launch next year, after which time accredited CME providers in the ACCME System will be permitted to register activities that satisfy ABS Continuous Certification mandates and submit learner completion data in PARS. Activities will viewable on the CME Finder, with learner completion data sent directly from the ACCME to the ABS. The goal of this partnership is to boost the number and diversity of accredited CME activities that meet requirements for ABS Continuous Certification as well as to simplify the process for ABS diplomates and accredited CME providers.
