New Opioid REMS CE Data Report

ACCME Highlights (08/23/18)

A new report reveals that more than 100 accredited providers in the ACCME Accreditation System have reported 892 continuing medical education (CME) activities that are compliant with Food and Drug Administration Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS) for Extended-Release and Long-Acting (ER/LA) Opioid Analgesics. Nearly 400,000 individuals participated in the activities. The report features data about the geographic distribution of CME activities, activity and provider types, and a list of participating providers. Additionally, it includes the percentages of CME activities geared toward changes in competence, performance or patient outcomes. The report is based on voluntary ER/LA Opioid REMS data submission from accredited providers into ACCME's Program and Activity Reporting System.
