Accreditation Council for Medical Affairs Partners With the Council for Continuing Pharmaceutical Education of Canada

The Council for Continuing Pharmaceutical Education (CCPE), which since 1969 has been offering training and accreditation of Canadian pharmaceutical industry professionals, has teamed with the Accreditation Council for Medical Affairs (ACMA) to enable more Canadian medical science liaison (MSL) and medical affairs professionals to become board-certified in medical affairs through the Board Certified Medical Affairs Specialist Program. The two groups will be creating the first-ever training program customized for Canadian medical science liaison professionals. "CCPE is excited to forge a partnership with ACMA which we believe will result in improved effectiveness across medical affairs and help the pharmaceutical industry continue to set world class educational standards above and beyond those norms expected by patients and the public," says Jim Shea, B.Sc., M.Sc., APMR/CCPE, general manager of the CCPE. ACMA President William Soliman, PhD, BCMAS, adds: "The ACMA is excited to partner with CCPE. Our alliance with CCPE will help expand the highest standards of competency for the pharmaceutical industry within the MSL/Medical Affairs Profession across the border into Canada."
